Bio

I began writing fiction for my own enjoyment when I worked in clinical research as a Registered Nurse. Eventually, I stepped out of the world of medicine into the world of my stories, full-time. My supportive husband, Mark, afforded me this opportunity for which I’m grateful.
I’m a graduate of the University of Texas in Austin and have lived in Texas my entire married life of thirty-five years. When I’m not writing, you can find me on some back road of Texas on my way to visit family. Or I may be hosting our growing family (three married children, their spouses and three grandchildren) and cooking loads of food. I meet friends at local coffee shops, or for lunch, tend to my perennial woodland garden, travel with Mark, and occasionally stay in B&B’s. Or I sit on our front porch that’s up on a hill with southwesterly views and I watch storms roll in or enjoy the slow changes in the sky when the sun sets.
I write what I’m curious about, what I want to research, and what I want to spend time thinking about for well over a year. This insatiable curiosity, a love for discovery and exploration, and the challenge of creating a work of art that might move someone else’s heart drives me. Inspiration comes from noticing the ordinary things I bump into everyday, with new eyes (fresh perspectives). Also, my Christian faith and the life-altering truths of the Bible inform my views and my values. My best writing time is early in the day. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention my affection for all things British and all those popular Netflix series set in period England. Count me in if you’re having tea and crumpets and watching Foyle’s War.
